Case toothpick knife

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case toothpick knife

Post by cmahar826@gmail.com »

I have a tiny toothpick or a toothpick not sure the correct terminology. From my research it's a 1999 with the tang stamp dating and the numbers on the back side of the tang reads 510096 d. Now from what I read the 5 means genuine stag handle and the d means the Damascus blade which I know that's right bc it's obviously a Damascus blade. Which is the whole reason I bought it. I picked it up at a garage sale. I have two other case knives and I've found them online for sale so I have an idea what there worth but I can't find any like this one. Are they common? Uncommon? Any other information anybody could give me I would appreciate it!
Thank you,
Cody

Welcome to AAPK! Nice little knife. ::tu:: I'm not an expert and don't pay much attention to newer knives, but a quick search on eBay for "Case 510096 Damascus" turned up two of them for sale, so if that's any indication they're not that rare. Take the "Damascus" off the search and it found 15 knives with that pattern, mostly with stainless steel blades.

Hope that helps. If you want to know what it's worth do an eBay search for completed sales of the knife. That's as good an estimate as any.

Maybe someone that knows more about the knife will see this and give you some more info.
