Donation for a good Case

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Donation for a good Case

Post by rexstubbins »

Get it?

Picked this W.R. Case & Sons 6276 1/2 green bone Sleeveboard for $5 at a yard sale today. I think the 1/2 is cause it's scaled on 1/2 :D

Got it soakin in liquid wrench because the back spring doesn't want to move much.

Any one want to donate some green bone from that era to a good case - I mean cause

Also can't find in my reference book from this era. Only see 1920 - 1940 Tested.

Nice old survivor. ::tu:: Sargent's 7th edition has pictures of a few W.R. Case & Sons sleeve boards including a 6276-1/2 but looks like it has the oval shield. Also has a picture of the 62079-1/2, another sleeveboard, also pictured with the oval shield. Says both are 3-5/8 inches. Both knives pictured have flat bolsters whereas yours looks like it has rounded bolsters. Too bad about the missing handle, wish I had a piece of old green bone to donate for a transplant.

Nice knife, I believe that is Rogers bone instead of greenbone on the front handle so I would try to match the front handle with the same material. It might be hard to find though. Cool knife just like it is.
