Old Pearl Boker

At least I think it's old. This belongs to a friend of mine and I was hoping someone might verify. I mainly collect Case and don't even have a Boker so I'm useless for information.

It was hard to photograph the tang but it says:

H. Boker's
Improved
Cutlery

There is no pattern number, tree, anything on the back of the tang.

As you can see the main blade is broken as well as the spring on the scissors.

The pearl is in great shape.

Anyway, he's not concerned too much with value, he would just appreciate knowing whatever can be known for sure about it.
It's a cool knife if it's only worth a quarter.
