Case XX Mini copperlock wth weird shield
I have had this knife for several years and was looking to identify the shield. So I went to the usual place" collecting Case Knives Identification and Price guide" nothing there. Looked on this site in the section for shields nothing there so I thought I would see if one of my fellow knife enthusiast could help a brother out. I hav attached a photo please let me know. Also on the same knife I was looking at the tang stamp and found the knife to be made from 1993 thru 1999 with that tang stamp.Then every year a star removed well the problem with that is in the book it shows the stamp with 10 stars but it was only used for 7 yrs. ? and the min copperlock I have onley has one star and its out to the side of the USA .In the book the stars are below the USA. Anyway any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advanced and I apologize for the lengthy post

The knife you posted in a 1999' Mini Copperlock. The dotting system (floating dot versus Long tail C) and the shields varied quite a bit on the Copperlocks. The regular size was released in 97' and the mini in 98'. I don't know alot about newer CASE knives but own about 10 Copperlocks.
They made various club knive from this pattern also.Could be a club knife with a special shield. Since there are many variations to the shields on these, one cannot expect every shield ever used to be in the books. For example, the green mini in the pic below was only used on 2 minis in 98' that I am aware of, 500 of each made. Not familiar with the shield you posted but a bit hard to see in the pic also.

A couple of pics of some shield and/or stamp variations on 4 knives dating from 97' to 99'. The red bone knife is a floating dot stamp and the most common shield I have seen on this pattern. Notice the different shields on each knife.
As for the "stars" you mentioned, not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the post 2000' date stamps that used the X (not a star) and dot dating?
Post a pic of the mini you are referring to and we can take a look.
Again, newer CASE knives are not my forte but I hope this helps.
EDIT: When I looked at the pic again, I could faintly see it is a part of a limited edition set/release blade etch. There were several versions of these sets. I would research that if I were you as it maybe related to the shield used.
