Easy Trivia

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Easy Trivia

Post by Knifekid »

Kinda bored today so I thought I'd have a quickie contest. The first guy to give the right answer will win a knife, I'll dig something out of my inventory. You will also have to do this on the honor system, you're not allowed to run check your Classics guide before answering.

Most everyone knows that there were 37 Classic patterns. Four were made by Case and the balance by Queen. Uncle Jimmy had a zillion different kinds and colors of handle material used on them. The question is...which is the only pattern that was NOT made with Stag handles?

oops...there's actually two ::dang:: ::dang:: . I was thinking of the standard patterns. You are right though Bill, reckon there will be two prize knives. Send me your address by PM or email and I'll get you a knife in the mail. My email is Perry@spaceportcutlery.com

Try again Johnnie...they did make the 88 in Stag.

Contest is still on so hit it again.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know. Amazing how much I can forget in such a short time. I sold out, cashed in you might say and I don't remember ::doh:: ::shrug:: Sheesh. I went on to collect a bunch of other stuff. All my Case info was lost on a hard drive crash a couple years ago, on a NEW HP computer.

Hey Perry,

What about the 375 Stockman pattern??? ....I didn't look in the book as the Stockman pattern is my 2nd love & this knife is a "1 of 1" in a few cell & bone handles!

Is it the 1096 toothpick Perry?

Edit: Never mind, Upon further review, I know that is incorrect.

We do have a winner!! ::tu:: It's Gary Music, the pattern is the Barndoor Toothpick. Almost all were celluloid handles except for a few Prototypes that had bone, ivory, or pearl. CCBill is also a winner for pointing out the big display knife.

I was sitting in my office yesterday looking at a display that had all 37 patterns. The display is all stag, except for the Barndoor, so I thought it would be a good trivia question.

Thanks to everyone for playing and I'll try to think of something else to do next week.

Man, I was starting to sweat! Even thinking of cheating......................

Thanks Perry, one of those Treemans you have laying around will work.................lol.

Back when I was gathering a lot classics, I just had to have all my favorites in stag.
Well, one of them is the Barndoor, guess what, I still don't have one!

That was interesting, and very nice of you………….

Take care
