Classic Saddlehorns

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Classic Saddlehorns

Post by gmusic »

Hey All,

Well, I'm sitting here cleaning knives again; I figured I would share a couple pictures of Saddlehorns.

Anyone recognize the mastodon knife?

Gary… WOW   – Saddlehorn’s are one of my favorite patterns and your's are gorgeous!! The the one with Mastodon scales that you use for your avitar – and the 2nd cut red stag are fantastic! I’ve never seen one with the 2nd cut red stag scales… Is the “line-up” all green bone?? Thanks for the pics.. Here’s a couple from my collection… The one with the round shield is 1 of 4 and the other MOP is XXX.. GB…

Thanks Sunburst,

At the desk is where I always inspect my knives. I just happened to have the home page of the site up at the time and thought that'll make a cool picture.

Roger 50/2050 got it.

It's the knife in the 2001 value guide. I was fortunate enough to pick it up from Mr. John Adams.

This is one of the very rare and hard to come by 1 0f 100 Green Bone - no etch - XXX Saddlehorns.. The very 1st and one of only three patterns to be produced by Case with the XXX tang stamp.. Outstanding Saddlehorns.

The Saddlehorn is my most favorite pattern of all knives and you seem to have the cream of the crop in your collection.

Congratulations on these fine blades!! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::
