Rare Wharncliff

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

The yellowbone 63055 is a '92 dated pre-production prototype i bought in one of pkcs phone auctions back in the '90s.The blade is engraved, one of a kind - pre production proto.Notice how the main blade is a little shorter and shaped a bit different.I put a prototype mastadon ivory up next to it,with the regular production blades for comparison. Now, if I could take a photo, you might be able to actually compare them..

Very nice knives Chris, really like the engraving on the Yellow bone! ::tu:: ....Wow, 90's phone auctions & now the web, maybe some day it will go back to the phone ::shrug:: ....Chris, on your photos, try using the close up setting on your camera & put 28" between your camera & the knife (this works for me ::nod::)
