RARE - 1996 - 62050 FROM ROGER-50/2050

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

RARE - 1996 - 62050 FROM ROGER-50/2050

Post by Roger - 50/2050 »

Howdy Boys,

Here is a recent buy I did for a knife that I may have some custom work done on, the Blue Rogers bone handles are faded as it looks as though the dye did not take too well! ....Shes a rare one to be sure of in any case my friends & a high in demand pattern in the hobby today, this knife is talked about in the Case Classic 2001 price guide on page number #4, item letter N. ....The description for her is below with photos & today's market value,

1.) 1996 - 62050 Blue Rogers bone handles - Case (Raised) Bomb shield - Special Edition "1 of 9" DBL Charging Bull Elephant main blade etch!

Jim Parker's book value in 2001 ----> $475

Today's market value in 2007 ----> $350 to $400 (& going up!) ::nod::

Yep, Yep another fine beauty Roger where in the world do you keep finding these incredible knives..? If you did do some custom work what were you thinking about doing??

With this knife being so rare if you do the custom work what kind of a hit if any will happen???

Thanks again for sharing,

Sunburst

Perry ....Sounds great, just give me a holler, OK?

Sunburst ....I am seriously thinking of sending this one to Jeff (agteacher2) for a re-handle job in Mammoth Tooth, Jeff has me pretty excited about this exotic handle material & if I decide to let him do his thing on her I will most probably have the only Elephant Toe in the U.S. with handles such as these out there & I really like that! ....I'M not really worried about the knife decreasing in value as I have every Case Classic Elephant Toe in regular production runs in triples anyway! ....On your question about where I find all of them, I find them through my many good knifer friends I have in the hobby!

Roger, check out http://stores.ebay.com/FINE-TURNAGE-PRODUCTIONS He has some real nice mammoth tooth now. I picked up some that were a real nice dark brown. Unusual and real purty, I think they are some of the best he has had in a while! ::tu::
Be sure they are the right thickness.
