Nice! I like the slightly larger frame penknives. They 're more reasonable as an EDC as opposed to the super-small 2 1/2-2 3/4ones. I don't mind the smaller ones, but it's just the those around 3.5" or so that are better suited as a main pocketknife, as opposed to a shirt or watch pocket backup.TPK wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 7:50 pm I fished out this NOS / C. F. Kayser Solingen with bone handles & nickelsilver bolsters today. It has never been used, carried or sharpend. Blade lenghts are 7,4cm/4,2cm, & total length closed is 9,0cm. I have never ran across this brand before. Looking forward to checking it out.![]()

Thanks Cody. I like all sizes of pen knives but I'll agree with you, the larger ones are handier IMO.cody6268 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 5:20 pmNice! I like the slightly larger frame penknives. And while I find myself measuring using the mm side of my ruler for fine stuff, I had to use the conversion factor on my trusty Texas Instruments TI-36X Pro to figure out 9 cm equaled about 3.5".

The Schrade is a tiny little thing. It should be able to sneak in under even the most Draconian of blade length limits. I like it!
Thanks Dan!
Nice score!
As always Cody, thanks for your informative post!cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 2:35 pmNice score!
Tiny but it works for most light-duty EDC tasks. I don't have an LB-1, but I do have Camillus and Bear versions that are about the same size, and they cut surprisingly above their size. Usually though, when weight is concerned, I usually go up about a half-inch or so and move to the 2 1/2" to 3" lockbacks with nylon plastic handles.
The Gerber Ultralight LST (used to be known as the Micro LST from the 1980s until recently)is a favorite of mine in that regard. Less than half the price of a Spyderco Ladybug, and in my opinion, it has better action (not to mention, a half-stop to keep the blade from slamming on your fingers). MSRP is $15, I've seen them as low as $10. It is "cheap enough to lose"; as in if I lose it, it isn't expensive to replace, and it's not an old, collectible knife.
It's 2.65" closed, just slightly larger than 2.5"
We very much think alike in that regard.
That should be an interesting challenge. Regarding your earlier post on lockbacks, it sounds like a Schrade SP2 could be right up your alley.
Thanks!

Bough this one. I'm not much for winter or skiing but I do like the design of this one. And I'm pretty sure that it will be sought after in the near future.Problem would be parting with it. Guess I need two of them. One to keep & one to sell.
