Tiddyoot, been there too, sadly the locals I spoke to had no idea there was ever a cutlery factory in their town and there are no ruins of the old factory.

Tidd-ee-oot is how I say it. I think I remember looking it up several years ago because I had no idea how to pronounce it.

A few years back my dad and I went to the Florida Keys to do some fishing for tuna and marlin, and everyone knew we weren't from the area after pronouncing the S in Islamorada, FL. Makes sense after thinking about it, as you don't pronounce the S in "island". But at the time I hadn't thought it through.

Close to what I thought; 'gus' as opposed to 'goose'. I asked an old timer at one of the knife shows how
it was pronounced, then immediately forgot what he said ....
