Case 6318 PU Pitted

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case 6318 PU Pitted

Post by Resophonatic »

Evening,

Buying this knife from a friend. We are not sure what the pitting on the main blade does to the price. I want to carry the knife. All blades open and close well and are tight with no wobble. We want to be fair with each other. I saw one of these sell for $35 here. It was in much better shape. I also know that the older ones are rare and worth a lot. Any help would be appreciated. In case you can't see it in the pics, it’s a 1973 with derlin handles.

Thanks

If you're just going to EDC it, I'd say $25 in that condition. ::nod::

I agree with John. Looks like a great EDC knife. The pitting on the blades looks pretty bad, so it doesn't have a lot of market value. The delrin scales are tough and are very crack and chip resistant, but don't have the same market appeal as nice bone scales. $25 seems like a more than fair price to me. :D

If the knife blades have excellent snap, I think $25.00 is a very
fair price. If the blades have low snap then offer $20.00.

I would have to agree with the foregoing thoughts.

Thank you!
We are both satisfied with that price.

As said, there isn’t any real collector value there. But for an edc, you can’t beat it. That’s a fantastic old user.
