Tom I have seen these on Ebay and wondered about the quality of those? They certainly look great.
Thanks Mark! ::tu:: Appreciate your comment! ::nod:: :D

If you have seen them on eBay too then they are probably from China. ::shrug:: I'm surely not the most knowledgeable knifer here and this is the first fixed blade that I have bought. It's also my first damascus steel knife. But for my three years of pocket knives & AAPK expierience the knife & sheath seem to me to be well worth the $ that I invested in it. Like I told Garry, it was only around $30 shipped so it's obviously not the same quality of a $200 knife but it is nice looking. The sheath is sturdy. The transitions from material to material are very smooth. One negative is, it's not the sharpest tool in my shed but I could work on that whenever I get bored. Overall, I am happy with it and do concider or intend to buy one or two more of them in different modles. I don't even really need any fixed blade knives to be honest about it. I do not go hunting nor camping 🏕️ . I do fish once in a blue moon so if anything I could use a good fillet knife. ::hmm::  So why did I buy it? ::hmm:: ::shrug:: Well..., I guess my thought is that you just never know what animals you'll run across in the woods here. There are tons of wild boar and in the last few years, even a few Wolves around here. They have been seen in my immediate area and I have seen tracks that I believe were made by them. I'm almost sure I will never get too close for comfort with any of them but the emphasis here is on "almost". I'd rather have something I don't need than to need something I don't have. ::nod:: I certainly couldn't out run any of them! Not even if I had a head start!

Anyways, sorry, I keep going on & on. Conclusion: For just carrying around on my hip for long walks through the woods & for what it cost..., Good Deal! ::nod:: ::tu::

Yah thanks Willie, both are big heavy knives, but that's how I like my knives, the weight makes them feel quite substantial in my hand! 8)

Aah, thanks Kerry! ::handshake:: I almost can't believe how big and heavy those 2 knives feel in my hand, but I really like that cuz it makes the knife feel so substantial, not light or sloppy at all, jus' solid. I paid-up and had to wait for them quite awhile, but it was definitely worth it! 8)

Just received this 1978 Case 6383. I collect knives from 1978 as it was the year I graduated High School, and had really gotten into collecting.
This one is just like I like them, great snap on all blades, no wobble at all, no cracks, full blades, but some wear and patina. I cleaned it up just
a bit, and gave it a good oiling. I love a good "Case Queen" (pun intended) as much as the next guy, but then I never carry them, so this one is
just right. In the pocket it goes! And, I actually got what I think was a pretty good deal considering how much these have gone up. Another bonus
is that it's bone, as a lot of the knives in '78 were delrin.

You're so right SW. I have looked for a while. They are either perfect and too dang expensive, or beyond help and too dang expensive!
I lucked out on this one. It still wasn't cheap, but it was worth it to me..

Very nice knife Pete! ::tu:: I have one quite similar to yours currently sitting in Customs waiting to be released, and the only markings on it are the word "Indiana" and an Indian Chief in full headdress etch on the front of the blade. Have you heard of these markings before? Thx! 8)

Nice Case Kerry! ::tu:: You are very specific with your collecting methods and as a result you wind up with exactly the models you like the most, and not a bunch of "accumulated" models. Wish I was like that, but as you know, my collection is a potpourri of all sorts of models, not that I'm complaining, but a bit more selective on my part would have been nice! Oh well, ya gotta work with what ya got! 8)

I purged a bunch of random knives about 10 years ago, Marco. I made a conscience effort to focus my collecting, so you're right. I still have a few "just because" knives. You know, "just because" I can! Ha!
