Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Dodgers (Chris Taylor) walk-off 2-run slam to beat St. Louis, 3-1. (I was hoping Albert Pujols would do that just to really stick it to his old team! )

I can't wait to watch LAD & SF in the NLDS starting Friday. Should be a really good series, I think. ::nod::

Pujols "stuck it" to his old team years ago, when he turned down their offer of $210 million/10 yrs and went to the Angels. The Cardinals were one of very few teams willing to take a chance on him when they drafted him. They were probably fortunate that he did turn them down, but it is not like he left under bad circumstances.
I'm with you on the next series, should be a good one. Love 'em or hate 'em, there is nothing like Dodgers/Giants and Yankees/Red Sox matchups.

The first round is Best of 5 Games, right? Is it 2 highest seed home games, followed by 2 lower seed home games followed by a 5th (if necessary) higher seed home game?

I prefer the way the NHL does the playoffs.

I know in the Best of 7 Games it's 2-3-2, which I feel favors the lower seeded team.

Yes, best of 5 for the first round.

Cardinals got off to a great start with a dinger in the 1st but the Dodgers caught them in the 4th with a dinger of their own. Stayed that way until the fat lady sang in the 9th with a two run homer by the Dodgers Cris Taylor. My cousin's wife will be so sad today, I'm glad I won't be around her to listen to her moan and carry on.

Greg! Glad to hear from you. Congratulations - there’s nothing like the atmosphere at an MLB playoff game. Hope the Braves can take it all. ::pray::

Surprised to learn the Braves hadn't been in an NLCS game in 20 years.

Those two grannies right off the bat sealed the deal. Didn't take the stuffin' out of the Dodgers but sure made it a long hill to climb.

They were there last year, losing to the Dodgers in 7 after having a 3 games to 1 lead.

Some announcer must have his stats mixed up. ::shrug:: Maybe 20 years since a NLCS championship then?

Yeah I think that guy said it was the first home game in a NLCS that the Braves had played in in 20 years.I believe the games were held in Texas in the year of Covid.
