Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Iman, Hanwei, originally headquartered in Taiwan by Paul Chen, has always produced quality swords and knives. His products were produced by his own workers in his own shop and foundry in Dalian. As well as personally by himself. When he was not satisfied with the quality of steel he was receiving he made and produced his own steel. I understand that the Chen family sold the company and is no longer connected with Hanwei. But Mr. Chen's operations were always first class.
Was this knife produced when Chen had the business or is it more recent? I don't know, but if it is a recent model that would be a very good sign
that Hanwei's tradition of quality is continuing.

That's what it looks like to me. Very nice knife and gotta love the scales. Great find "Q"QTCut5 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:45 am It seems that I've come down with a bad case of Stag fever (actually, the fever for Stag is always present, but lately the intensity has gone into overdrive). Saw this little 3½" barehead jack and immediately fell head over heels for the Stag and bought it without any idea where it was made or by whom. Both blades have a bear trap gator snap!!
No tang stamps, just a verrrry faint, almost invisible blade etch that can barely be seen when the blade is angled just so under certain light (and nearly impossible to photograph). As best I can tell, the etch says WESKE over USA inside a diamond, something like this:

Very nice Garry. I’m sure the quality is excellent on that knife. There are some very impressive and high quality knives made in China. Not all Chinese knives are of low quality. I’ve owned a couple of Rike knives and I would put them up against any knife made.
This one does look interesting and looks like it could be used for regular cutting and for defense in the half open position.

Very nice and very unique. A fine piece for any collection.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 6:27 pm This unusual pattern comes from Hanwei. The lock is activated by the large button on the handle. The F&F are superb, something akin to a finely made time piece.

Thank you Mark and Rick. Mark, yes the knife can certainly be used either with the blade extended or as a push knife if in the half open position.
I will just use it as a display piece.

That is a gem, LA. I have nearly identical but it does not have the one hand opening blade. Plus the blade etch reads Bright Leaf Virginia.

*Since the USPS lost the last one a few weeks back, I was very fortunate to have seen the same one come up again.

Nice finds Q!
I especially like that Shefield England!
The picture is a bit dark. Is that bone or wood scales on that one?
Either way, I like it!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Added this 2004 Puma Bantam 673 to my collection. I'm really happy I could finally pick up one of these after chasing them for the last couple of years.
I don't know why, I was so obsessed on having one of these but I was.
And don't tell anybody but
having ONE didn't make thinks any better either.
I just love the size and the looks of them!
Like the way I love the looks of a "72" pattern. Just something about em that pleases me more than Pop-Tarts!
I Couldn't really capture the bright red color of the scales on film but here it is. I'll try taking some better pictures of it for the knife photography thread.
Thanks for looking friends!
