Rick T., I had a long look at your Starship. Almost got it but finally decided on another Hanwei design.

I saw 3 other ones for sale and I'm looking forward to seeing which one you got if you're able to post pics. I hope you like your Hanwei as much as I like mine. It's unlike any other knife I have ever owned.

If you have ever seen a dead pig that has been in the hot sun a while you would understand the phrase as their mouth draws to a huge smile. A very common phrase here in Texas.

A very fittingly named Starship, nice-looking Micarta, and a Jack (I wouldn't quite consider it a Barlow) that sort of reminds me of an Opinel. Interesting, varied, and nifty pick-ups, gents!

Hanwei Starship.

I received this yesterday and waited all day for the mailman. Finally got it an hour and a half before I went to bed.

That is an interesting knife Rick. I was tempted on that one myself. It looks like one I wouldn’t be able to put down for a long time.

Ken that one is beautiful. I love wooden handles and that looks like some very fine wood.

Smitty, that Lord and Field looks like a great user. Let us know how you like it after you use it.

Got this one in yesterday from that South American Jungle Store order. I know nothing about the maker other than I've seen them advertised across the interwebs and in a couple of sporting mags. It's a Lord & Field single blade , with Blue Denim Micarta scales, 4 inches closed, Spear point blade is 2.75", blade and liners are stainless and has a liner lock that locks up tight. The blade thickness is .102 with a flat grind. I just liked the look of the knife. It is tight, liner locks up tight and did come paper cutting sharp. I am sure this is a Pacific Rim produced knife, but will see how it does.

It seems that I've come down with a bad case of Stag fever (actually, the fever for Stag is always present, but lately the intensity has gone into overdrive). Saw this little 3½" barehead jack and immediately fell head over heels for the Stag and bought it without any idea where it was made or by whom. Both blades have a bear trap gator snap!!

No tang stamps, just a verrrry faint, almost invisible blade etch that can barely be seen when the blade is angled just so under certain light (and nearly impossible to photograph). As best I can tell, the etch says WESKE over USA inside a diamond, something like this:

I couldn't find any pics of the WESKE USA logo for comparison, but based on my limited research, WESKE Cutlery Co. operated in Sandusky, Ohio from 1946-1952 and mostly made fixed blade hunting knives and a few pocket knives.

This unusual pattern comes from Hanwei. The lock is activated by the large button on the handle. The F&F are superb, something akin to a finely made time piece.

Like nothing I've ever seen. Thanks for showing. Very interesting piece. Was surprised to see China on the tang given your take on the superb F&F. And if F&F is trending better and upward, that's a positive statement. Congrats on a cool piece.
