I found this in an estate sale and it would barely move, there was so much grime and hardened oil on it. Taking a page out of Jerry D's book, I used my sonic cleaner with a few drops of Dawn dish liquid in it. I couldn't get the frame in the tank, but I was able to get everything else in there disassembled. I cleaned it up and reassembled it with a little bit of Quick Release oil on it, (It's not just for switchblade you know). This hand drill now turns easily and it's an entirely different piece of machinery, It's really quite smooth now.

It even has some storage in the handle for drill bits. ::ds::
That’s wonderful Dale! I have a couple of those, but not nearly that clean.

Watch out guys this is a disease that is easily caught and difficult to find a cure. Below is an example... not a third of the true number cleaned up, rehabbed, etc
I could spend a whole weekend perusing through those tools. Wow! But I agree with the others, that shop is way too organized. How do you do that???

Thanks for the comments. I have spent many hours in my shop since retiring restoring furniture, building two tall case (some call them grandfather) and other clocks for my two daughters, rehabbing old tools, building knife cases and trying to finish the never ending 'honey do' list. As far as the manufacturers or trade names they range from Stanley, Sargent, Fulton, Wards, Eclipse, Keen Kutter,Craftsman, Disston, Atkins, Simmons, Lie Nielsen, Brown and Sharp, Starett, Veritas, Lufkin, and others. I have four wooden chests (not pictured) of the first ones I acquired before I knew it was a disease. It all started with the rehab of Bishop handsaw. Two years ago I had a yard sale and sold over $1800 in tools in one day...done just to make room. Like I said don't start down this road ...there is no turning back. I have managed to cure myself and stop collecting coins, antique telephones, and fans but not tools and knives. I look forward to seeing what you collect or save for future generations to enjoy.

Yes sir! They say necessity is the mother of invention. But poverty has to be a close cousin!

Dad found this at a flea market and got it for $15 or so because the guy said it didn’t work. Knowing that it would just sit in dad’s basement I finagled it off of him.

The neutral wire was off the post in the motor and the prong for the ground was broken off of the plug. I hooked the neutral wire back up, put a new plug on it and she’s running like a champ.

For those who may have some how missed it, our Rispster is married to a highly gifted artist named Heidi. Here are two of her paintings that will be hanging proudly in our living room. We just got the duo back from having them framed. The Bull will eventually be appearing on a magazine cover. My sister and I both consider these art pieces to be great additions to our small collection of original artists.

Hey Thanks for posting those Garry .
They look great, good choice of matte and framing .
Will send you a copy of the write up regarding the artist and the now award winning Bull you have . Sounds like June or July issue of Volume One .
Heidi is super happy that you have that one, it went to a great place.
Take care ,stay safe ::handshake::

Col., We had one of those "air conditioners" in our shop when I was growing up. Almost identical to yours.

I have an old blower motor the previous owner left in my shop. I have been thinking about doing the same to it. Although my shop has a big 220 AC/ heater in it, the squirrel cage could help move the air around in the heat of summer.

I was up on the north end yesterday and got a couple of shots of the new "Fulfillment Center" building that Amazon is building in northern Sioux Falls. According to our local news, it will be 640,000 sq. ft. and will employ 1000 workers when completed and open in 2022.It is just a stones throw from the intersection of Interstates 29 and 90.

They are trying to build one in our town. The land is currently being used as a golf course, and the owners are selling. Every time they propose something for that land, the NIMBY (not in my back yard) crowd flares up. I totally get it, I wouldn't necessarily want that behemoth in my neighborhood either. But the jobs and the tax revenue should be good for the town. And as it's close to the highway, an on/off ramp could be added which would mitigate most of the traffic concerns.

Our town isn't getting any smaller, and with the boom in housing and developing, we'll need some new businesses as well.

Looks like someone has done a good job of preserving your downtown area. ::tu:: Far too many towns have had their’s destroyed by the big box stores and “shopping centers” (what did they think their downtown was?” that killed off the town center’s merchants. Fortunately most around here have recognized the perils and are managing to keep their historic downtown vibrant and promoting their “atmosphere” and new shops, restaurants, concert venues, refurbished hotels, etc occupying historic 100+ year old buildings.

A few of the shops have closed up. Of course COVID didn't help. But Lebanon has survived better than many small towns. Selling online as well as keeping the store has worked for some.

I'll add that there abundant plant jobs available if people can pass the drug tests and then the random tests after employment.

A Poll Hereford bull recently sold here. Was in demand because the family bloodline were known for their easy handling and gentle nature.
