Thanks. I am very partial to the Camillus 72 Pattern. One of the best feeling in the hand and EDC knives IMHO!!
Appreciate it Marc!!

Fantastic work, you have a skill that is hard to acquire, being able to re profile a blade that has had it's tip broken. I admire your work.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 1:11 am Picked up this Short line Tang Stamp Camillus 72 off the bay for $16 the first of the month. It arrived yesterday. Had to do some cleaning and re-profile the Main Clip Blade. Now it is a nice filler and EDC 72 until a better one comes along. I have posted more details about it in the Camillus 72 thread.

Blue and Super Blue are not stainless, very similar to white but tungsten and a touch of chromium added. I think super blue is superior to white and blue paper steel. They all have a high level of cementite, iron carbide. When you use the term "high carbon", many stainless steels have more carbon than light alloy carbon steel, like Elmax and M390 have 1.7 and 1.9 %. Nice knife.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 12:07 pm Mark, Thank you for your comment. It is clear that in the Japanese viewpoint White steel, which is high carbon, will take a sharper edge than Blue steel, i.e. stainless. It is said that Blue steel offers a somewhat longer lasting edge. Blue tends to be more brittle. I read that the names of these steels, White and Blue, simply derive from the color of the paper they come wrapped in. True? I don't know.

Glad you like it so much, just how it should be! I can't tell from your pics, but does this one have the brass liners or the red ones?

Looks nice Cody!cody6268 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 3:12 pm FedEx dropped this one off yesterday, but I didn't get out to the mailbox until today. A somewhat inexpensive knife sheath made by South Texas Tack's in-house saddle shop.
Despite being inexpensive at $15, it's made really well, and the leather is of good quality. It's a little dry, however. It will need to be oiled.
I tried it with the Camillus made standard pattern Trapper Stanley SL10 I carried today, and it fits pretty good, albeit I wish a little more handle stuck out. The bigger 4 3/8 closed Moore Maker (supposed to show up today) Stockman by Queen I bought the sheath for should fit perfectly.

Nice Tom, they’ll both make good EDC s . Really like the EO . Enjoy em
Thanks JP!
