Wow great clean up job! That one looks like it'll be right at home in a pocket.
Thanks. I am very partial to the Camillus 72 Pattern. One of the best feeling in the hand and EDC knives IMHO!!

Had to do some cleaning and re-profile the Main Clip Blade. Now it is a nice filler and EDC 72 until a better one comes along. I have posted more details about it in the Camillus 72 thread.

Fantastic work, you have a skill that is hard to acquire, being able to re profile a blade that has had it's tip broken. I admire your work. ::nod:: ::nod::

Mark, Thank you for your comment. It is clear that in the Japanese viewpoint White steel, which is high carbon, will take a sharper edge than Blue steel, i.e. stainless. It is said that Blue steel offers a somewhat longer lasting edge. Blue tends to be more brittle. I read that the names of these steels, White and Blue, simply derive from the color of the paper they come wrapped in. True? I don't know.

Blue and Super Blue are not stainless, very similar to white but tungsten and a touch of chromium added. I think super blue is superior to white and blue paper steel. They all have a high level of cementite, iron carbide. When you use the term "high carbon", many stainless steels have more carbon than light alloy carbon steel, like Elmax and M390 have 1.7 and 1.9 %. Nice knife.

At the bottom of this page has composition info. I have a top of the line EvenHeat heat treat oven and have tried all of these.

Montanaman, The reason I thought Blue was stainless was because the article I was reading indicated it contained chromium and vanadium. It didn't give the percentages so I jumped the gun. Thank you for the clarification.

Really sweet knives, everyone 👍👍👍!!

Received this Brother in the mail today.. fit and finish are excellent, rock solid when locked open, hair popping sharp, smooth finish on the back spring and scales, blade perfectly centered when closed....IMO-- MUCH higher quality than Rough Ryders.. $25 with shipping... very happy with this one.. I have a Brother wharncliffe on the way, also..

Very nice Ryan! ::tu:: That model was the first Brother's that caught my eye close to 6 months ago, and it immediately went onto my "Wishlist" along with the wharncliff and 2 other models. Glad you like it so much, just how it should be! I can't tell from your pics, but does this one have the brass liners or the red ones? ::shrug:: 8)

Thanks Ryan! ::handshake:: No, it wasn't me who started that thread, but if I'd received any of the models by then I sure would have. I keep going to order them but so far I keep ordering something else I like. Sooner or later though. Ahh, the trials and tribulations of a knife addict! LOL! 8) EDIT: I went back and checked, and it was "joeradza" who started that tread! 8)

FedEx dropped this one off yesterday, but I didn't get out to the mailbox until today. A somewhat inexpensive knife sheath made by South Texas Tack's in-house saddle shop.
KIMG3689.JPG
Despite being inexpensive at $15, it's made really well, and the leather is of good quality. It's a little dry, however. It will need to be oiled.

KIMG3693.JPG

I tried it with the Camillus made standard pattern Trapper Stanley SL10 I carried today, and it fits pretty good, albeit I wish a little more handle stuck out. The bigger 4 3/8 closed Moore Maker (supposed to show up today) Stockman by Queen I bought the sheath for should fit perfectly.

Both look like great knives...Congrats, Tom, on some sweet pick ups. ::tu:: I especially like the I6209X Imitation Ivory Baby Copperhead...I used to collect that pattern and The Collector Monkey in me will always have a soft spot in his heart for white handled knives.

Here are a few I picked up recently...Brother 1508BN Natural Bone Wharncliffe Swaybelly...clearly, I absolutely LOVE this knife. ::uc::
P2270045.JPG
P2270048.JPG

I also picked up this AG Russell / Camillus CM-2 Daddy Barlow...for the third time! I previously owned two, but for some reason I sold them both (or possibly gave them away...I can't remember). But, when I saw this one I was reminded of the reason I had originally purchased the other two in the first place: the shield. The shield on this knife is one of the coolest shields I have ever seen, and I finally decided that I simply had to have one in my permanent collection. In addition to the uber-cool "meta" shield, the bone on this big ol' Barlow is also pretty cool, IMO. Glad to have this one back...it's a really cool knife. 8)
