Before their reintroduction last year Pocket Hunters were harder to find than CopperHeads. That made Pocket Hunters a more logical choice in my eye but the buying public and membership here saw things differently. I have no doubt that CopperHeads will out sell last year's Pocket Hunters. The 49 is a practical size for the bottom of a front pants pocket. However, I have no shortage of 49s and had not even noticed that they'd been discontinued. If Case makes them with two long blades, Wharncliff and clip point, I'll buy several of them but they'll probably retain a pen blade in all the two blade versions. I never got around to buying a two blade 49 with a Wharncliff master blade so maybe now's the time.

While they've got the handle dies out how about some more with 5 blades?

The 49 has long been one of my favorite patterns (as has the 109 “baby copperhead” which was my dad’s favorite). So I’m looking forward to seeing what variations come out. I’m really hoping for a return of the x200 version which had a long spey secondary blade.

I think the Case version is a lot better than some other manufacturers with a "Copperhead" pattern, as it has a pen blade, others are basically a form of Trapper with clip and skinning blades.

Year before last's Barlow; my thoughts were "Why isn't this in the regular lineup?!!" The Barlow is a great American traditional pattern that while originally done by several American cutlery firms; nearly no one has done any since Camillus and Schrade went under. Utica recently discontinued most traditional patterns that weren't SFO (i.e. Moore Maker, Klein Tools); including the Barlow. That leaves just Bear and Son, and their quality sucks. My users are all Kutmasters from the '70s, as well as several shell-handle Imperials. I hope to own a Colonial version soon; but I've heard it is bigger than a standard Barlow.

Pocket Hunter--a wee bit small. I carry a knife this size daily around the house (and I may pick up the one-blade CV variant). But, I wish the Mid Folding Hunter would return in non-assisted form. The 65 is too big for a reasonable EDC, and afoul of the common 3.5" blade limit in certain states.

Now, I really like this Copperhead. I like the clip-point blade version best. At about 3 3/4" closed, that's right in my sweet spot. Of course, I'll wait for a CV SFO version.

The 49 is 3 7/8". I have a couple of stag 5200 trappers with long clip and spay blades that were sold as half of NKCA sets. They measure 3 15/16" , the measurement show in Mumbleypeg's catalog. They were intended to give young collectors a chance to own reproductions of the x200 Mumbleypeg posted a picture of. Trappers sell well so maybe Case would find a run of 49 trappers profitable.

I'd love to see Case make two blade slip joint Mid-Folding Hunters.

I wanted a 49 for a long time and finally bought a 2007 collector's edition with fancy gold lettering on the blade that I didn't want for $65 because that was the only 49 I could find at a reasonable price. Then a month later I found an original from the 60s in a pawnshop for $19. About 95% condition. But I still want a user with stainless blades for an EDC down here in humid Louisiana,

The CV version isn't too badly priced at $49. I can't wait to get one. A much better deal than the just $2 cheaper Pocket Hunter with one blade.

Can't wait to add one of these to my collection. That blue sawcut jig looks pretty nice, but I prefer a darker blue shade.

Nice group of snakes John. Always liked them and have a few. i'd like to see Case offer a single blade version, Wharncliffe or clip, with a swedge.
