I’m like Gary Kennedy, I stand behind all my knives and if there is ever a problem I will make it right. I only had one knife this Christmas season go awol and it finally showed up after 3 weeks. I not only took a call from the buyer, I made calls to the buyer and sent emails and contacted our local Post Office Postmaster. I even secured a second knife just like the one he bought so that I could overnight it to him if the original didn’t show up, he wanted the knife and not the money and he made that clear. I will do whatever it takes to make someone happy with their purchase. I know a lot of sellers here on AAPK have the same ethic. If you are in doubt, look at feedback and even send an email, PM, or phone the seller and find out how they deal with these issues in advance.
Thank you as well Sir, have had Many great experiences with Sellers here. And part of what happened as a buyer ,and referencing my last post is my fault . As a buyer if it seems too good ,or have to hurry and buy because I have to have it, then it’s my fault as well if I get burnt . Can’t blame everything on pay pal or this or that . Do apologize if I offended any Seller, with my previous post . It just seems a lot of activity on line with the Covid, isn’t all good , and this or that ,and things are going to happen in the day and age we live in.
Sincerely JP

I bought something for a very small amount because I am scared of losing $300 or $400 on a knife. I love Case Classic knives and older Case knives. As you know I can't buy them new anymore so I put myself at risk every time I get one. I buy from 2 to 4 a month and did not collect for years because I was scared of getting took on eBay. Then I found this site but haven't made the jump to buy. I am fed up with eBay because it seems like there is always someone driving up the prices and I end paying way to much. What I like about this site is the price is there. No waiting 7 days just to get disappointed by the seller driving the price through the roof. You have a good thing going here. I would just like more protection.

So it seems to me it has been well explained already what the situation is here. It’s up to you whether you’re comfortable with that or not. You can wear both a belt and suspenders but if you’re still so scared your pants will fall down that you won’t go out of the house, so be it. ::paranoid:: Your call. As has been stated, sellers here are serving a community of knife collectors/users, with a dedicated platform on which to communicate with each other. Sellers are pre-screened. Any who don’t perform satisfactorily here are “weeded out” quickly.

Still don’t know if you contacted the seller or not. I hope it all works out for you. ::handshake::

After reading all the posts in this thread I felt compelled to add my $0.02! I've only been a member for about 7 months, and a Supporting Member for only a few days, and the main reason I joined was because of a deal I did with SSk prior to joining, and it was because Mark took the time and effort to ensure I was happy with the terms of the sale through many emails(cuz I was too cheap to phone him long distance, need my money for knives ya know)discussing the best form of payment and shipping for both of us, as well as supplying all the details about the knife I wanted, and this was after asking Mark to hold the knife for me until payday, which he was happy to do. I've since done about 4 more deals with 4 more to come with Mark, and for each and every one of them, the exact same level of service has been experienced. I made similar arrangements with Matt from Sanders Knives, as well as Brent from Luvstag, and with those deals I received the same 1st.-Rate service and professionalism, and, these guys also held my knives for me til I was ready to buy. Ebay and many other sellers have become over-priced, unreliable organizations, and they have the money to make sure things like this are avoided, but they don't, and as big as they are, if they keep up this attitude they'll find themselves losing long-time customers to smaller, more reliable sites, such as this one. On top of all this, an extremely generous member recently shocked me by buying my Supporting Membership for me, and we hadn't even been in communication in the various threads, so they didn't know me from Adam. Now I ask you, where else can you find people and service that come anywhere close to that? Nowhere, that's where! Like anything else there's a couple of bad apples, but they're few and far between, and are quickly weeded out. So, for anyone wondering if AAPK is a good place to do business, I'm here to say "YES"! Best stores and forum on the internet! 8)

Buying from other collectors is the safest and most efficient way to build a knife collection.
I bought many knives on ebay. Only about 1 in 3 actually lived up to the description. Now that i am selling off my knives, i only sell the 'good' ones so the buyers never 'waste' their money the way i did. And most people who are primarily a knife collector rather than primarily a knife seller are honest, full disclosure sellers. Representing a knife accurately is important to a knife collector when he sells that knife.
Ebay is still fun but you need to be very selective. Every now and then you come across "Grandpa's old knife" with poor pictures and you recognize a very collectible knife that turns out to be a gem. But this now is very rare.
Buy from another collector and you will consistently do well.
