lol - I knew that would the response from you guys. I love living at the beach. I never get tired of seeing & hearing the waves. I imagine it is some of the same feeling you have when in the woods - the world slows down and you can close your eyes and hear only the waves and the occasional sea bird. Living here is much different than being on vacation. The tourists are the worst part! Probably the only good thing about this pandemic is that it has given me a chance to be at home every day, and I can go out for a walk on the beach on a Tuesday morning when there is almost nobody around. I cannot wait for retirement!

AMEN, Brother!!! My wife & I go to the beach every morning; she walks and does her exercises and I sit and watch the waves, the wildlife and the sunrise in solitude. It's the perfect way to start the day...very therapeutic. To be fair, when we lived in a cabin at 4000' elevation, we really enjoyed walking/sitting in the woods surrounded by trees, as well. We even managed to find a surprising amount of natural beauty when we lived in the High Desert (Victorville, CA). Nature, in all it's various and diverse forms is so full of beauty...you just have to be open to what each place has to offer. The key to enjoying nature is getting out early in the AM before sunrise; that's really the BEST time of day IMHO.

Probably my favorite beach is Malaquite Beach on Padre Island National Seashore. Like you said, one time we went on a Monday with my cousin and her family, spent several hours there with our families and saw no one else all day. Her husband and I drove past the “4-wheel drive only beyond this point” signs in his truck. A couple of miles past it we found some “skinny-dippers” enjoying the surf. We didn’t stop and they didn’t seem to care that we drove by.

On thing I've come to appreciate about South Jersey is that all four seasons are close to equal in length. We get our occasional blizzards and heat waves, but overall it's pretty even keel. I wouldn't like one extreme or the other as a dominant weather pattern.

That said, 60 +/- 5, low humidity, is my ideal.

Hey Q! I'm glad you responded. I see that Kilauea has started to wake-up again and is filling the caldera with lava. Are you feeling any shakes or getting any smoke? I'm pretty sure Pele could kick Covid right off the Big Island, but I'm not sure a layer of 2,000 deg lava is the best method for a vaccine...

#3 My son's dog "Buddy";a Rat Terrier who lived to be almost 17.
#4 ,#5,&#6 Three taxidermy projects I bought at an antique shop for $50. The armadillo I sold to a friend of mine in Washington for $50 so the rest were free. The iguana I gave to my youngest son. The Pomeranian(I named her,"Fideaux")was attached to a Playskool skateboard with cable ties when I got her. I freed her up and bought her the sunglasses because the bright lights in the shop hurt her eyes.She now guards my shop day and night.
#7 is my faithful dog Muttley who left us after 18 years. She was our last dog;I still can't get another.
#8 is Muttley and "Duke von Slayer";our 155lb. Rottweiler with Mommy.Guess which dog is the,"Alpha" dog?

I wish he was mine;he belongs to a good friend and fellow artist from Canada.The two dogs were born on the same day and have been with each other since they were 6 weeks old.Amarillo(the Yorkie)is the alpha dog of course. Here is a pic of them "playing" and his first show.

I think you're probably right about that. However, the recent eruption has only made the Covid problem worse because now tons of tourists are flocking like moths to a flame to the Big Island to see Madame Pele in action. We've had a few light tremors but the worst thing (after the massive influx of coronavirus super-spreading tourists, of course) is the VOG (volcanic smog) which is every bit as ugly and unhealthy as LA smog in an inversion layer. I would post some photos but all you'd see is a blanket of white vapor--so it seems we got a "White Christmas" after all...Hawaiian style!! Fortunately, down at sea level where we live the vog isn't quite as bad as it is just a few hundred feet higher up. But, we've still had to keep all the windows closed and our air purifiers running non-stop.

This case was a small quartz table clock that quit. Put some sharks teeth in it from Morocco.

The local rock shop has them in a bowel for .50 cents each. Ones in baggies $5-8 and you figure them out. You only have the time period so it may take awhile. My son is doing fairly good but has had a virus in his lungs. Thanks for asking. Here is an example. cusplets are the two tiny extensions.
