Very nice photos!

It's good to see a 4-H'er! I was in 4-H for all 9 years, was club president and achieved my County All-Star. Fun times!

I bought cordless headphones for me as my Christmas present to myself. The idea is to avoid disturbing others while watching TV (I have slight hearing issues). They worked just fine until the batteries ran down. This afternoon when I put them on the hanger to recharge the batteries, the charging light wouldn't come on so I fiddled with them and got the light to come on but it wouldn't stay on. Look what I had to do to remedy the situation. My luck has been running in the ditch lately. ::disgust::

Jerry - I think that's a pretty common issue with wireless headphones that sit in any sort of cradle or charging base. We see similar issues with the wireless headsets used in our call center. We have about 400 reps using wireless headsets and I'll bet we buy 20-30 replacements a month. Of course, our people are quite hard on ALL the HW.

I guess it's a pain to need to fiddle with it to get it to charge but as long as it works it will satisfy the need that caused it's purchase. It's just a pain to have to mess around every time when it's advertised as being simply hung on the cradle. ::shrug:: It's a Sennhieser and I bought it because of the name I was familiar with as being quality back in my stereo days.

Jerry, bought the same exact one and brand a year ago. Got tired of messing with it and it’s in a pile now somewhere in the landfill . Not trying to dissuade you, it just got to be so finicky that got tired of dealing with it.

Yup, that's exactly why I went with corded, when I purchased my Logitech Pro's. Cordless may be a little handier moving around, but i'm saved dealing with all the charging frustrations.

Here's a pic I took from my back porch this morning of the sunrise. Looks like we may be in for some nasty weather. (The weatherman is calling for rain turning to snow tomorrow)

The boys and I use these for hunting. They’re the kind that magnify the sounds around you but muffle the gun shot. They work REALLY well. You can hear a whisper across the room clear as day, but sudden loud noises get turned way down. And they use AA batteries. No cradle or charger to fool with.

There are more expensive ones, but these work as good as the expensive ones.

That’s a dramatic sunrise for sure!

Well, that's depressing. At least my Mickey Mouse work around did the trick. They're charged up and I'm a relatively patient person so I can deal with it until I can't.

I bought them so I could watch TV at a volume level that is comfortable for me and my diminished hearing capabilities and not disturb the neighbors. Corded headphones were not an option considering the location of the TV clear across the room from my chair.

All good my friend, you probably have more patience than I do. Am not losing hearing yet, but Wife’s not into sports so during a game like to keep it down a bit so tried the ear phones .
Good luck Jerry and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours.

BTW, re: cordless headphones. While you were watching sports, are you sure she wasn't saying to herself, "There he sits like a lump on a log. Lazy bum." Who knows what goes on in a woman's head.

Call me crazy, but I felt this worthy of a photo. It is a cold, breezy day, spitting a few snowflakes and wind chill in the teens. Fittingly, for the season, here is a barren field where life ended for some mammal, its' carcass picked clean by those who scavenge in order to sustain their own life. Looking over the scene are two Harvestores, the only structures remaining from what was once a family farm. Waiting.....for the life cycle to start anew in the Spring.

Why is it that us old guys always like to put our recliners as far as possible from the one item in the house that we actually *do* want to listen to? My grandfather did it, my father did it and I do it. If you think about it, it makes no freaking sense...

There is another possible solution. There are wireless modules that are a pair of boxes. A wire goes from the TV to one box, and wired headphones can be attached to the second box. This allows you to use ANY headphones, and still have a wireless connection between the TV and your chair.

There are a lot of these products out there, and I'm not recommending any particular one. This is just one example:
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Transm ... 443&sr=8-4

The big thing to be careful of with any wireless TV audio is audio latency over the wireless connection. This can cause a lip synch issue that can be annoying.

I'm actually not a big fan of wireless audio/video. Wireless connections can be very unreliable and frustrating. It isn't very noticeable when you are just browsing the internet, but when you need a solid, stable connection, wired is always the way to go.

I like your picture Ike. Great perspective and in a way the carcass symbolic of the former farmstead, dead and gone save for the skeletal grain bins. I suspect the “scavengers” might be some giant Ag conglomerate that now owns the land.
