Help with Case knife

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I can't make anything out of your picture of the tang stamp. It is out of focus and there is too much dirt and corrosion.

Use a Number 2 lead pencil (graphite/lead end), rub the lead on the tang area. That will loosen the rust without harming whatever marking remains. Wipe off the residue with a soft cloth. Then see if you can make out any stamping letters.

If you can read it, go to the research section here https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/co ... ification/ and compare the stamp with the pictures to determine the age.

Just judging from the shield and jigging my guess would be mid/late 1960s through 1970s. It’s in pretty poor condition.

Looks like the knife is missing the master blade so that makes it a bit harder to pinpoint a date.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

It looks like a 6318 Stockman that was taken apart then reassembled without one spring and the master blade. That's an interesting idea for those who do not use the long blade. It would make a more pocket friendly slim knife.
