This one is an unusual shape for sure ( by ring turn standards)

It looks like a swell center

Is that what this shape is known as? It’s just an arched top, with a slight coffin edge bottom. I’ve never seen a ring turn in this style. The rings are a light material almost like silver. I do have another with rings made of this material. It doesn’t ‘clang’ like metal...

Not sure if it is a true swell center but it does have the look. A shape common to some whittlers. A very cool knife.

Have not been on in a bit (Not many ring turns floating around right now...) Did finally score this Birks ring turn! Pretty rare - as they are known for their silverware (so I am told.) Even though the main blade had obviously been snapped, I purchased it... I could not resist a new name and most of all the red/orange scales. I have looked for ring turns with red scales from the beginning of my ring turn collecting. I did reshape the main as best their job allowed me...

Hi B4U! I'm not at all familiar with ring-turn knives, so I'm hoping you would explain their operation to me. When you turn the ring does the blade fly open by a spring, or does the blade gradually open as you turn the ring, or...? Thanks, Mark!

Not sure what that means exactly, (My wife has accused me of this though!)
However, celluloid has definitely shrunk.

there's just a square torrent/peg through a square hole in the blade that slowly turns and opens each blade. It is said these were initially for women as to not break nails trying to open blades... Although, I have evidence they were for the blind as well...

What a great knife b4u. I would heed knife7knuts advice and store it away from your other knives to keep it from damaging them if it out gasses further.
Celluloid gives off corrosive gasses when they begin to break down. It will sure eat up any metal around it. You have too many wonderful knives to see that happen. But that is a pretty one. Congrats.

Hey there! Thank you! Luckily, I store each knife individually wrapped in paper towel. They stay dry and well this way. Thanks!

My wife and I took on our first vaccine doses, yesterday. It was like a well-oiled machine where we went for it.
I was never one to get a 'flu shot' or a polymer handgun for that matter -
But figured I’d better grab both! (never say never! I already had the baby 'G'! Just have had it out making upgrades on it.)
Anyhow, I am posting a new ring turn! I really like the uniqueness of this puppy. L.S.M. German sterling. For a small knife, this one has some weight to it!

Kirk, I like the 26, I like the additions to it and I love the knife. Not much use on that one. You always have great ones.

Thanks! Yes it has not been used or abused much at all. Here’s what I’ve done to my 26 so far:

Upgrades:
1. ‘BLACKLIST’ match grade fluted barrel
2. ‘STRYKOUT’ trigger shoe with .25 trigger & slide polishing job. 3. Pearce magazine grip extension 4. SS 16# guide-rod 5. Hogue rubber grip. 6. TLR-6 Streamlight 7. Titanium back plate ( smooth) 8. About to add: Black SS dimple pin set 9. About to add: Trijicon HD XR Night Sight Set. 10. About to add: Ghost ultimate 3.5 lb trigger connector.
