My guess based on markings is relatively recent: from end of WW II to ~ 1970's.
I hope others will post to either confirm or correct.

YES !
I too would very much like to hear what other experienced collectors think of this knife. I could be quite wrong. It has happened before. ::doh::

I agree with KJ ::tu:: - I believe it is a later made Joseph Rodgers and a good bet is between 1940-1970 (perhaps earlier than later in that range but just a hunch)..

Nice little knife. I'm going to go with the general consensus that its def. made after WWII. Looking at the other age indicators, I am going to say is likely late 40's to late 60's max. The general shape, wear and patina doesn't give me 70's vibes at all.

There is a possibility it is a War-time knife, as the smooth black plastic is indicative of that era. However, if it were from the 40's, I think we would see a different tang stamp, likely smaller font and slightly better detail.

A knowledgeable collector friend sent me some thoughts on this knife:

"That knife was a model 32340 and was offered as early as the mid 1920s with production up to at least 1965. During the 1920s and 1930s, that same model had horn handles. By 1940 and after, it was sold with "Black Handles" which were some form of synthetic, most likely celluloid.
The knife in question appears to have those black synthetic handles and oddly has no "Joseph Rodgers & Sons" bladestamp lengthwise on the blade which is seen in a catalog illustration from 1965. The lack of the lengthwise blade stamp was probably a cost saving measure and I believe that knife was probably one of the last production models to come from Rodgers in the late 1960s or 1970s during their final days."

I have confidence this is accurate information.
