That's cool, Scott.
Reminded me of the spruce gum our grandfather would find for us out on our walks in the woods.
Yup, you can actually chew it. It's starts off a bit crumbly, but stay with it and it starts to stick together.
Just wish I could remember what kind of spruce it came from.

Probably Black Spruce. You can also find it on a Red Spruce, but Black Spruce generally produces more.

Very nice Scott. Also like the one with the pine ball. We use to use it also for fire starter. But when I was a kid, my grandfather would show us how to make homemade bows with arrows, and we would use the pine balls to treat twine for the bow strings.

I forgot to get a knife in any of the pictures but had my Bradford Guardian in my pocket, splashed around for a couple hours and caught 8 crawdads for dinner.

I've never had crawdads. Do you cook them in water, then just seperate the head from the body like shrimp?

Pretty much, helps to soak in salt water first to flush out their systems and the claws can have decent meat too.

Ken - I like those photos of the Kegler. And yes, I think that a back yard absolutely counts as the wild. I live on the outskirts of a city, and my back yard sees as many wild animals and birds as I would expect to find in a wilderness park!

Yup, same story here. You have an eye for nice pictures, never get tied of your shots in the least .
And I also have to say, you are a mighty lucky guy to own so many rare and desirable knives, but it's well deserved . If you didn't own all of them, we then wouldn't have a chance to enjoy all the great photography, and that's the plain truth bout it .
