Several years ago while vacationing in Bavaria we were staying in a small hotel at Obersalzberg, which is where Hitler and his staff had homes and bunkers and a heavy SS presence. Much of it was destroyed during and after WWII but the ruins remain. The history plus the surrounding beautiful mountains, the nearby national park and other attractions make for a great vacation location. The hotel where we were staying overlooks much of the area, including the ruins of the homes and bunkers.TPK wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 4:33 pmThey have so many rules & regulations here, it's completely rediculous!!!![]()

The government has posted signs, in both German and English, stating the ruins are “Verboten/Forbidden”, but there are well worn paths from the roadside into the forest where the ruins are located. My wife and I were sitting on the hotel balcony overlooking this and noticed that American tourists stopped to read the signs, then proceeded to ignore them and go down the path leading to the ruins. The German tourists (we could overhear them talking and thus could tell the difference) would stop, read the signs, then go on down the road to another path to the ruins, where there were no signs.

I think it is used to test older batteries one cell at a time, back when they had lead connections above the top of the battery

used one around 1962 for testing the individual cells of a 6 or 12 volt car/truck battery to see if one was dead. They were like a hard rubber that you pressed thru to make contact. Then we changed to the float type or hydrometer cell tester similar to the anti freeze testers. working for my father.

For over 30 years, before Christmas our little country church has done a live Nativity, our church’s traditional gift to the community.
Church members erect the scene, bring the animals and take turns playing the various roles. The kids (and adults) really get into being shepherds, angels and so on.
Hundreds of visitors come to see it and a good time is had by all in celebrating the birth of the Savior!
Wishing all of AAPK a Joyous Christmas!

That is very cool Ken! My oldest son is a minister in Pevely, MO. and they set the whole inside of the church up like you were walking through a city marketplace and then you come upon the manger scene.
Here is the link to a video if anyone cares to watch it.

That is great David. Nice facility!
Our church building is too small for such an undertaking. We set up the live Nativity in the parking lot. Some years it has been really cold - it was less than 20 degrees F a few years ago - the actors just took shorter shifts being outside, and the attendance was smaller. And I recall one year when we had light drizzling rain. But this year as most years it was in the 50’s.
It’s always fun regardless the weather - well, almost always.

That's what my son's church has run into in past years, so he just said make all plans for inside and everyone will have just as much fun. Just make sure it's all down for Sunday morning service.
