Real bird.
The yellow cardinal is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is the only member of its genus, Gubernatrix. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, temperate shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, and temperate grassland. Wikipedia

Fellers, we’ve seen pictures and heard reports of yellow cardinals around here for several seasons. I’ve not had the privilege of seeing one yet, still hopeful.

A very beautiful bird. Thanks for mentioning it, and pointing out their American presence. One to keep an eye out for next time I head south.

Saw this just a block west of me on Tuesday morning (11/26/19). That's Keith Creek he's nose down in. There used to be a bridge there but I guess someone neglected to tell him it's been gone for years. How the hades did he manage that with all those trees and brush blocking the way.

Just relaxing in front of the "fireplace", getting ready to crack open my next Louis L'amour book, as I await further Turkey Day instructions from my wonderful wife.

Four law enforcement vehicles there for the event. Must have been a slow morning.

This is for cudgee, who thinks Southern Commiefornia is just Frankie & Annette beach movies. This was taken 15 minutes ago. It's still coming down, with much more on the way.

I'm in Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear is about 25-30 miles east of me. It's a helluva lot worse right now. It's about 1 1/2' to 2' deep where I am and it's not letting up. Here is almost the same exact view as the previous picture, roughly 6 hours later.

Thank you. I'm not sweating it, no pun intended. I have plenty of food, beer, alcohol, a nice fireplace, over 1000 DVDs and a generator. I can last a long time. I actually enjoy being "shut in."cudgee wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:30 pmNew_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:24 pmLake Arrowhead. It's a helluva lot worse right now. Absolutely gorgeous, I love snow as long as I don't have to get out in it. I too enjoy being shut in as long as l don't lose my utilities.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Just wrapped-up my final autumn project, a mini-greenhouse. I had a small space behind my shed and a mature white oak to build a south-facing 4' x 4' mini-greenhouse out of pressure treated lumber and a 5mm material called solexx (http://www.solexx.com/why-solexx.html). The roof is hinged at the top so that it can open about 4" above the doorway to let hot air out. The back (north side) has a 1' screen at the bottom that can be open and closed from the inside to let cool air in. So far, the temperature has been about 15 degrees higher inside vs. outside with no ventilation. The ten 1020 trays hold 15 3-1/2" pots each so I'll be able to raise at least 150 vegetables, herbs and flowers for our outside gardens next Spring! I'm taking my gardening hobby to a new level - thanks for taking a peek.
