I’ve wanted a Model A, of any variety, since I was thirteen years old.

They have managed to stay out of reach the whole time.

Went to the Rays/Rangers game tonight. Rangers won which was nice but the real thrill was the pre-game 9-11 commemoration ceremony which started with recognition of a Medal of Honor recipient, and concluded with a flyover by a B-2 Stealth Bomber. After the B-2 flew over at about 500 feet altitude my wife and I looked at each other and both said "Wow!". Really impressive!

Good one Ken ... ::tu::

I was at work Saturday evening and happened to step out back of the plant in
time to see 4 jets as they did a fly-over of Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Flew directly over my head at about 500 feet ....

Ken, you should have stopped by. I'm about 20 minutes (sometimes 20 and sometimes 60) from the stadium. I've enjoyed watching the new one being built. Glad they won. ::nod::

Right on! Nothing but steel, Chrome, rubber and wool with a little copper and glass for the "electronics" . That's it. In retrospect the simplicity and ingenuity is amazing.

And the cars' designs were works of art. ::nod::

Miss Joy is all excited about her Night Blooming Cereus! They open after dark and are gone at daylight, they have a wonderful fragrance and tonight 5 have opened. She has been watching them for several weeks and we figured tonight several of them would open. Took a picture around 5:30 pm before dark and then about 9pm. She says these are in the cactus family. ::shrug::

Took some pics at a tractor pull competition on the weekend. These are of a Chamberlain, and a Lanz Bulldog. The Lanz is amazing when put into context. A formula one motor is a 1.6 litre v6. The Lanz is over 10 litres and one cylinder.

I am sure that most of you have seen things like this but thought I would share it. A local farming family will periodically come up with ways to display their artistic side with bales of hay. Thought some of you may enjoy their latest endeavor. If I tried something similar, it would have to be more along the lines of Calvin's (think Calvin and Hobbes) snowman creations.

Just so everyone knows, i in no way condone the hunting of whales, they are beautiful creatures, which i had the good fortune to get close to many years ago when i used to surf in my youth. I just want to make that point clear. I discovered this photo in a local paper, and wanted to post it for what i think is a good reason. No matter how many nature shows or photos you see you do not realize the size of these beautiful mammals. This photo puts it all into perspective, look at the size of humans compared to the whale, and look at the knives resting on it. I hope you like this pic posted in the intent that it was meant. ::handshake::

We occasionally get humpback whales off our beach, and I could not agree with you more. Whales (and all the ocean mammals) are incredible creatures.

Formerly living in Hawaii I often saw Humpbacks shooting skyward then falling with a mighty crash. I have heard they do this to remove barnacles. Personally, I think they are just in a good mood.

Just got back, from Cranston, Rhode Island, from my son's wedding. We stayed at this really neat old house, built in 1677. There were a total of 7 of us staying. It had 4 bedrooms. It was a really beautiful place. Door jams were probably just under 6 feet high. All the guys hit their heads. I learned, after one solid hit. My brother-in-law is about 6' 3". He hit his head about 5 times...but he's a bit slower learner, ha!
It's been on the cover of "The Farmer's Almanac" for something like the last 20 years.
The weather was amazing 55/75-80 highs. Sadly, we've returned to mid 90's back in Texas :(
