This may help. We're actually close to the same size.
Australia's land area almost 7.7 million sq km. The 48 contiguous states if the US, which excludes Alaska and Hawaii is just slightly over 8 million square km.

Good example!!! We have only 7 states, that can be deceptive in it's own right. But i have driven across Australia, East to West, And North to South, and it is a big country. The differing climate zones make it confusing as to what fruit is available in each state at differing times. ::handshake::

We recently moved into our new office a few months ago. We were allowed to decorate our offices as we saw fit (within reason). So, no centerfolds, LOL, but I decided to do something related to my knife hobby.

Dimitri had given this poster of Walden, NY, to me after our bucket list trip years back...
walden.jpg

I needed some wall hangings, so I found some neat cutlery-related factory pics online, and put them in floating frames...
factory pics.jpg

Last, I wanted something for a credenza in my office. I had a chopped down printers tray, so I made a little knife display...

Not only decorative, glennbad, but fine conversation pieces when the situation permits. If I was your boss, I'd be mightily impressed.

The day before yesterday, I went down to "the ranch" to tend my feeders and pump some water to my dwindling pond. Thought this was one of the best pictures, from this round.

I stay in a beat-up travel trailer, when I go down. It's fully covered and my temperature sensor, is in a well ventilated area, in the shade. This was the first day, that my a/c, on high, couldn't keep it at 72 degrees...

Today is "National Relaxation Day"...I'm fully participating. Did a skillet of stir-fry rice, on the grill, a basket of grilled veggies, and some chicken thighs, deboned by the Bullnose. Of course you have to have a beer, to go along with it, when it's this hot and it's National Relaxation Day. Happy NRD, to ya!

Great pic DocB, the old doe has figured out the source and her fawn in the back ground is taking notes. The grub doesn't look too bad either. The heat not so much. ::tu:: ::tu::

For anyone who didn't know what it is --- From Wikipedia:

"The Phasmatodea are an order of insects whose members are variously known as stick insects, stick-bugs, walking sticks or bug sticks. They are generally referred to as phasmatodeans, phasmids, or ghost insects. Phasmids in the family Phylliidae are called leaf insects, leaf-bugs, walking leaves, or bug leaves."

We've had an epidemic of those walking stick insects here this year. The chickens and guineas go nuts over them. They caught a lot on their own but I was picking them off of bushes and trees and the side of the house, and throwing them on the ground where the chickens could get them easier. The scrambling to get a bug was comical.

High school football time is here in Texas. The best football of all IMHO! Went to a pre-season scrimmage last night.

I didn't realize how big high school and college football was in the south until we went to visit my in-laws in the little town of Kirby, Arkansas for Christmas of 1989. Arkansas was to meet Tennessee in the 1990 Cotton Bowl. The half hour local news went as follows: 5 minutes of local news AND weather, 20 minutes of Arkansas football, 5 minutes to recap news and weather.
High school football took up almost two full pages in the newspaper's sport section.
I'm a football fan for sure, but to be honest, this Yankee boy almost overdosed on football!!
I loved it!!!

By the way, Vols 31 - Razorbacks 27 :(
