Case Bros Little Valley NY
Case Bros Little Valley NY
Did Case Bros make a knife stamped....CASE BROS Little Valley NY.... If so what time period?....knife is approx. 3 1/2" long nice shield and handles....the back handle has been repaired (piece added)…2-bladed both snap good...Same mark on both blades.... plus the larger blade has XX on blade...smaller blade mark is clearer but both look good with the glass!! Just saying I've never seen another like it!! Thanks in advance for information!

From Allen Swayne's book the top tang stamp would place your knife between 1900-14. Excellent find!

Raincrowe you have some nice artifacts.
The Case and Platts families were related by marriage and often contracted knives for each other. Both families share a long, rich history in the American Cutlery industry. Some discussion of it can be found in this viewtopic.php?f=2&t=59929&p=694399&hilit=Platts#p694399 and other threads here at AAPK as well as numerous books.
