tang stamp
Does anyone know what knife company used the words 'HIGH CARBON STEEL USA' on their blade tang? I saw it in three lines. (high carbon on top, steel in the middle, than usa on the bottom) Thanks.

Re: tang stamp
I guess these would be the same? Just picked them up, not received yet. Auction pictures, not mine.

Re: tang stamp
five, four, three that is a great group of knives. HOK's for sure and I like the different blade arrangements.

Re: tang stamp
We'll, here's what the auction house sent to me. These knives were not part of the auction so I don't know how they were confused with the three Camillus made knives I thought I was getting. 2 Pals and a Western.
Not sure what to do? What would you do?

One suggestion would be to send the two Pals to me.
Great old cattle knives and the camper or what ever it's called!

Just realized the Pal in the bottom pic could be called a utility knife.

Re: tang stamp
Ha! Thanks, tree.
I'm going to try contacting the auction house tomorrow and see what happened. But those two Pals are really nice and the Western ain't bad neither. All 3 Western blades are stamped, WESTERN BOULDER COLO.

Re: tang stamp
Looks like he sent you the wrong lot and another buyer has your 3 knives. The ones you bid on are more valuable than the ones you received. (well, more valuable to me). The 5 blade Cattle is not often seen. Substantial knife. I have at least one. Ulster made some of the Craftsman Cattle knives, marked on tang: "Forged/USA" with etch "Craftsman" on blade.

Re: tang stamp
I searched their closed auction listings, including the auction my knife lot was in, with no success. It remains a mystery . . .
