Case XX 610096 SS Tiny Toothpick Cracked Ice

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Since no one has responded to this, I’m going to assume they don’t know anything about it. It’s certainly not even remotely like any ”cracked ice” knife I’ve ever seen. Can’t read what appears to be a signature on the blade? ::shrug:: I’m wondering if it’s some aftermarket treatment, or an SFO of some sort. Recommend you contact Case and ask them by email to:
consumer-relations@wrcase.com.

In my understanding, which is frequently incorrect, cracked ice refers to a synthetic handle material used in early to mid 1900's. On the 610096 in question it would appear the "cracked ice" is related to the blade treatment (maybe ::shrug:: ). Anyway, I would agree mumbleypeg's assessment that it is likely someone bought a production knife and then customized it.

I ended up finding out that the blade was custom made. Case did not know anything else about it, however.
