Hello...I bought this 1940’S 88LP...The pics weren’t that good and I failed to notice that the sheep’s foot blade wasn’t quite right...It looks to me that it may be a modified spear point...I knew something was amiss when I discovered that both the spear and sheep foot had 88 tang stamps...Would it be impossible to find a replacement sheep foot blade for this knife...It is a decent example otherwise.
Thanks,
Denver

Re: Case 88 LP
Denver, I don't collect 88's so I won't comment on the pattern number stamped on both large blades. If I am tracking with the blade re-profiling concern you mentioned (see highlighted picture), it looks to me like the blade tip might have been broken and re-profiled to "fix" it. Or maybe someone just wanted it to look different.
Re: Case 88 LP
Denver I have had some 88's that were marked on both masters.

Thank you,,,That is music to my ears...Either way though I guess I’ll still be needing a sheeps foot blade to make it right?
Anybody you know that possibly has a donor?
