i cant work these phones im ginna try again

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I'm lost... I think I'd like to see an occasional period or comma.

Yes, my eyes (and brain) glaze over quickly when confronted by big blocks of text.

:D C'mon guys, he's trying to do all this on a cell phone. I had to memorize where the period is 'cause with my eyes I can't even see that little dot lol!

I'd personally just leave them the way they are Joe, the first one looks a little rough but I don't think it would affect what you'd get for it. The others look great. Lots of folks don't like a knife that's been messed with and buffed to death.

Agree Eric, and for the knives, just enjoy them. ::tu::

As they are, those knives would make fine packers, providing they were sharp. ::nod::

I hear ya Eric, but it works both ways. My old eyes have trouble reading and comprehending when there’s no punctuation. ::facepalm::

Regarding the knives, they look fine to me as-is. A number 2 pencil lead will clean up the spots. A little Tuf-glide or Renwax will prevent further corrosion. You can easily do it yourself.

Hey Joe,

I'm sorry that I cannot answer your question. I just wanted to pop in and say that I admire your profession. I've walked a lot train tracks in my days and I've always thought that a Locomotive Engineer would be a neat job to have.

Much respect!

RJ, I wouldn’t buff those knives. Just use some Simichrome or some other polish on them. Those bolsters will really come back to life and the blades will look better too. Don’t forget to polish the brass pins. A lot of people forget to polish those and it makes a big difference when done. I think you will be happy w/ the results. Don’t forget to wear some latex or vinyl gloves when you use that polish.
By the way, Railroad stocks have been one of my favorite investments for many, many years.

Very nice Case's ! If your intent is to sell them, definitely don't buff them. A good thorough manual hand cleaning is always preferred with a rag and some auto polish or similar compound to get the grime and oxidation off the bolsters and some mineral spirits and a toothbrush to clean up the jigging. Thats all I would do ... collectors would rather either do nothing and leave a vintage knife as is or do whatever more aggressive clean up they prefer. Good luck ::tu::
pffffft that's not a knife ......... now THAT'S a knife !! Crocodile Dundee
