Case knife repair

Are there any Case knife repairmen in the Lexington, KY area? Need to re-peen the center pin and install a new scale pin, (stag scales). Also, what effect will this repair have on the value of a "XX" era 5375 knife? If no one in my local area, who on this site does quality repair on Case knives?

There are several knife mechanics that are members here. Check the Knife Repair and Restoration subforum viewforum.php?f=37. Also Case has a repair center at the factory that has done excellent work for me in the past, at reasonable cost. https://caseknives.com/pages/warranty-repair

What you’re wanting sounds like a fairly simple repair. If done properly using parts equivalent to original parts it should not adversely affect the knife’s value. Where people get into trouble is having a knife repaired with poor quality workmanship, obviously different materials (like using brass pins when the originals were nickel silver) or techniques not correct for the time when the knife was made (spun versus peined pins).

A word of advice if I may (you may not need it but others reading this might). Don’t be in a hurry. If they’re good at what they do there will be a backlog of work ahead of yours. And if they’re good at what they do it will be worth the wait.
