Case Tested Scout or utility 6445 R I have a question about this one Great looking Knife . My concerns are no Shield . What is everyone thought . Nice Green Bone. Looks like the blade may have been welded on and knife cleaned or maybe a good knife ?

The lack of shield on a Tested 45 is common in my experience, so I would have no concern whatsoever about the lack of a shield.

I don't like the tang shoulder grind line. Also I don't like the looks of the word "CASE" in the tang mark. The "TESTED XX" part looks ok. However, many of the old stamps magnified to extreme levels will look suspicious :) . So I would have some concern of the blade and welding as you mentioned, but I hope someone that works on knives will offer an opinion that is more credible than mine.

Seriously, I have a single poor example, which I'll dig out and photograph in a day or two. It's light years behind Larry's in condition.
