ID this Case please
My father gave me this Case he picked up a few years ago. I tried to ID it but I am having problems. Any info on range of manufacture date handle material and such would be greatly appreciated.

Re: ID this Case please
Neither the jigging or the shield look like a case knife. The 3C on the tang does ring a bell though. Seems like that may have been used by Cattaragus but I'm no expert on those.

I'm not seeing anything Case, either. But then again, I'm less an expert than Greg.
Take care and God bless,

Re: ID this Case please
That does appear to be a Cattaraugus-style knife. I like it.

Re: ID this Case please
Thank you very much. I can now try and research the correct manufacturer.

Re: ID this Case please
Didn't find your exact knife; but, when I googled 21259C knife (seems that's what it might be on your tang)...I found this 21259 Cattaragus knife...that appears to be a relative to your knife?

The link states info on the linked knife was found here: "Guide to Collector Knives" 15th edition on page 274" ...if anybody has this guide...maybe they can see if it has your knife.

The knife says Cattaraugus before looking at the stamp.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Re: ID this Case please
Bone looks Catt, master spear looks Catt. I've never seen the "3C" stamp but Catt made a number of Barlows with the "CCC" stamp on the bolster.

Everything's better with a Barlow
