TFL it sold at auction so either of those would be a good guess.TwoFlowersLuggage wrote:That Chevy is a '57, correct? Was it headed out to be squirreled away by a Saudi Prince or a Hong Kong billionaire?

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
My cousin has a red one (4 door sedan) and John's right, not the one every one swoons over. The popularity of the 57 Chevys over the years never ceases to amaze me. That style is still as fresh and popular as when it came out 62 years ago.jmh58 wrote:TwoFlowersLuggage wrote:That Chevy is a '57, correct? GOt a feeling that ol buck sits still when the lights are on. LOTS of hunters around here. Don't think he got that big by being silly. Plenty of smaller racks to shoot though. He was 105 yds off my back porch when the camera took his picture. I've got plenty of hat racks now, all I care about is the meat. LOL
I would like to get a good picture of him if nothing else though and I probably would shoot him given the opportunity. LOL

Few pictures from the past - 1940-1947. My wife's grandfather. He was famous for his love for cars. Poor people, he had no money to buy a car, so he built them himself. Bulgarian first hot rod builder.
He died very young in 1948 from diabetes.

Eustace, those are some great pictures! Would love to know more about how your wife's grandfather put those things together. I see the old stationary engines in them, the belt drive and the "drag race" is quite a picture. The picture of the crew coming back from a hunt is pretty neat, too!
Thanks for sharing some of your family history. You could put these pictures in the "old family picture" thread.

When I first saw those pictures, I was guessing they were from around 1915-1925. It is pretty interesting how just the presence of wood wagon wheels made me think it was much older than it really was.
What I want to know is: How did your grandmother pump water into the house after your grandfather stole her pump motor for his hot rod??

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Well, I finally finished my wall/stair project (with the wife's help!) earlier this year, although I think I blew out my arm in the process.
Here's a before and after.
Haven't done any significant planting yet.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Thanks Phil, I learned a ton doing it all on our own. Other than a little help from a small Kubota, we did everything else by hand. They call NH the granite state. We didn't find any of that thankfully, but boy howdy, did we hit ledge.
And these were the small ones, LOL. I was fortunate that my brother in law was also building a natural stone wall, and took the majority of my pilings for his project.
