Near Williamstown, Ky. is a recreation of the Arc as described in the Bible. We took a tour today. I found it quite interesting.....and big!

Joe,
They claim it is the largest timber frame structure in the world. The structure is almost entirely made of wood, although the heavy timber framing did have some joinery made of metal. I didn't get many interior photos but I'll add a couple to this post. Also below is a link to an article that tells a bit about the construction.

That arc recreation is impressive Phil, certainly looks like something worthy of a visit if near there.

Last night we saw one of the all-time greats of rock 'n roll in concert - Roger Daltrey of The Who. We've seen The Who several times over the last 30 years, but this was the first time we had seen Daltrey separately. He did mostly Who songs with a few from his solo albums. Going to rock concerts is something both my wife & I enjoy - and now that we have the funds to do it, we do it right! For this show, we were in the 6th row, center section - great seats! The one thing you have to remember when seeing these old guys is that, well, they are OLD. Daltrey is 74 years old. The fact that he can still give a great show for 2 hours is amazing. Another surprise was that playing guitar in his band was Simon Townsend, who is Pete Townsend's younger brother.
Fans of The Who know that Roger Daltrey was famous for his microphone slinging, whipping it around the stage and then catching it. Roger didn't disappoint, he did many throughout the night. Here's a sequence from one of those...

This is a poor photo made with a smart phone at dusk. It's hot and dry in Texas this part of the year so I keep a water trough filled in my back yard for the local wildlife. Tonight when I went out to turn on the faucet this buck was lying by the trough. This guy has an unusually large rack for a Texas Hill Country subdivision buck. The game ranches have some specimens because they are well cared for as a "cash crop", but the free roaming deer are usually pretty scraggly. The racks are still in the velvet stage this time of the year.

Wow, wonder how many pairs of knife scales you could get out of them. Nice rack for any part of the country.

You need to keep him close, a little corn if it's legal, and be ready opening day.

estate/garage sale find on our trip. $6, very old Black and Decker "Shorty" 1/4 inch right angle drill. In a former life building ships it sure would have been handy.

Recent sunset on Lake Ontario.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Yellow Jacket bees decided this shrub in front of the house would make a good home. They must have moved in quickly because I am around this area often enough and hadn't noticed them moving in. They had hollowed out the inside of the shrub to the size of a volley ball.

Wayne, beautiful sunset. I bet it made the food even better. And wow, those wasp mean business. Must be different from our yellow jackets, as ours build paper nest, usually in the open.
