Question about age and value

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Question about age and value

Post by battletoads »

I have a small collection of Case knives that we are going through as part of my grandfather's estate. There were a few knives that after some searching around on the internet we still didn't have a great idea on the year it was manufactured and what the value might be.

The first knife is a coke bottle knife that had no model number but based on the stamp looks like it is from 1920-1940. Does anyone know anything about this knife and its value?

The second knife from what I could tell might have been from 1919. Based on the information about the stamps and the shield and where they could have met in the years. Is this correct and does anyone know the value of this knife?

The coke bottle hunter appears to be authentic but has celluloid cover with some condition issues, maybe $150. The second knife I'm afraid is a forgery.

This might help you. According to this chart, the tang stamp on the first knife places it 1932-1940.
