Case Long Tail C

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case Long Tail C

Post by XX Case XX »

I've found 3 different styles of the famous Case "Long Tail C". They all have small, subtle differences. Does anyone know of anymore different styles? (All photos courtesy of Steve).

The examples in this picture are the actual blade marks of some Case Tested XX era knives. Some of the stamps in the picture are obviously different than the others while some are very similar with differences in size or the serifs on the lettering. One of the examples comes from a secondary blade. I believe there are long tail marks used on some of the Case Classic patterns, but I didn't have any available. I would also imagine variations of the long tail marks are used on recently made knives as well.
