Jake: I certainly understand what you're saying because it's true. I'll give some ideas. I received written confirmation from the staff at AG Russell that this is a rare knife, one that Mr.Russell not only designed but made at the original Bertram factory.
They estimated it's value in it's current condition to be between $225 to $250. Keep in mind that is
their estimate and may not reflect current market conditions. I already know I won't get anywhere near that. These are very well made knives but not as popular around here as they might be overseas. If I was able to reach that audience I could get a very good price for it but I can't.
That is the reason I am willing to accept the fact that it's not a well known brand and therefore I won't be getting the price for it I'd like to. But also keep in mind that things that aren't popular now can always come back and be popular again in the future. If I received anywhere near $100 I'd be very happy. I'd be taking a loss but I'd be happy.
