Thank you, Glenn and doglegg.
Yeah, Glenn, those steel bolsters are still nice and crisp and nicely made. By who, I have no idea.

I can just see an old Sheffield cutler painstakingly crafting those bolsters! What a knife Joe.

Found this one on my lunch hour at the antique store across the street from where I work. Don't know why I felt I needed it but I haven't gotten a knife in a while and the price was right. First Utica for me. Now when my 5 year old granddaughter joins the girl scouts she will have a vintage knife to carry! If they even let them carry knives anymore! Ha

My daughters were angels!! Ha ha. Now they are mothers! Yes I guess attitudes and knives might not be a great combination! They live in San Diego. Not far from your part of the world.TwoFlowersLuggage wrote:When my daughter was a girl scout, the only thing she carried was an attitude...

My friend Mossdancer from here on AAPK gave me one of those Girl Scout knives last year. They are great scout knives and the blade steel is excellent. Nice find !

Thanks Phil! I actually carried it today and it has some nice carbon steel. Half stop on the awl. Only the awl. I think that's how you spell it! QS I got that from Kj (Roland) it has some great stag handles on on it. Thanks!Quick Steel wrote:Your Northfield Stockman lights my fire. Very nice indeed.
Roland that's a 712010L Tribal lock back. This is my second attempt at acquiring one. On the first the ebony handles had wave marks but this one is nice and smooth.kootenay joe wrote:Wow Greg, you had a Big week !

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Thanks Steve! I did get some pretty good stuff this week. I was kind of beat when I got home last night so I just took some quick shots of the knives but I'll put them in their respective threads today and inspect them a little closer today. I also got another item that I didn't show. I think I'm going to need some suggestions and ideas with it.steve99f wrote:Glad the second TS was satisfactory Greg. You had a good week looks like.

Past couple of weeks have been slow. Just a Walden 8OT and a display set from Herman's trade show days w/ Schrade.

gwelker62, Those are some fine looking Schrades. The Old Timer looks especially pristine, 5 stars.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
It's actually too pristine. Somebody subjected it to a buffer. Which is not that big a deal. I was after the hinged box more than the knife. This knife is going to make for nice eye candy and have an original minty 8OT to put in the box.Quick Steel wrote:gwelker62, Those are some fine looking Schrades. I did not recognize it had been buffed but I congratulate myself on at least seeing there was something special about it. It does look good in that box.
As an accumulator, not a serious collector, the buffing does not bother me as long as it was not being sold as NIB or mint.
