Case...what? Butchers knives?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I've had some in the past, but I don't know how to date them.

Sorry. The larger knife has an OAL of 11 1/2" and 7" of blade. The smaller knife is 10" w 5 1/2" blade and has obviously seen a sharpening stone a few more times than the other.

Had a set of those in different sizes, bought new IIRC around early 1970s. My wife sold them in a garage sale! She didn't like them because they rusted if she put them in the dishwasher. ::facepalm:: She later said several times she wished she still had them.

Case CV, whatever it actually is, is an absolute favorite of mine, but I recognize the limitations in the kitchen. But the smaller of the two shaves arm hair down its whole length and I'm gonna clean them up and work on the big knife tonight. I'd bet as butchers knives go they'd stand up to most anything.

The butcher knife if from the Case "Old Forge" line of kitchen knives from at least the mid 60's. Looks like the "smaller" one is from the same model line based on the forge lines but maybe different era's based on the different blade stamp styles. ::tu::
