Invoices for the Make an Offer button

I think I may have lost a sale. I accepted an offer and now the buyer would like me to send an invoice. I advised the buyer to go back to the store and click the add to cart button. Is the correct method, or is there another way to handle such a request? I can send an invoice via PayPal but that would work around the arrangement to track the 3% on sales and I want to to do this the using the correct methods.
