Spent some time on my knees there once, saying goodbye to Wil Koehler.

No disrespect intended but he looks like Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs.

Don't know Rizzo.

Wil was from Menlo Park, California.

He was killed on Feb 8th, 1970, by a drunk CIDG soldier under his command.

The CIDG soldier was locked in a Conex container that had been converted into a cell with small windows cut into its sides.

During the night, someone dropped a fragmentation grenade through one of those windows.

First baseman for the Cubs. Not a twin but in my opinion a strong family resemblance.

I had to Google CIDG. All I can say is... I'm very sorry about Wil. He didn't deserve that. On the other hand, the scumbag CIDG soldier deserved exactly what he got.

From a photography point of view, this photo is incredible. Now, connect the Wall and its meaning, to how good the photograph is and it is overwhelming. ::tu::

When we moved here in 1979, this camellia bush was about head high.

We've had a blast of warm weather here lately and it's bloomed a bit early. Already been frost bitten since I took this picture a week ago.

There's a white one out back that looks about the same.

Sarah cuts these blooms off with a bit of leaves included and puts them in a shallow bowl of water on the kitchen table.

Just yesterday I saw a photo of an eagle flying away with a good size goat. Hope it was photo shopped.

Nice picture , Roger.
When I lived in Montana I frequently saw Bald eagles and Golden eagles.

Quick Steel, eagles do not fly off with goats.

Thank you Joseph, I can sleep well now. I am prone to worry about goats. And if you believe that.....On the other hand I saw films of a South American eagle take a giant sloth right off th side of a tree and carry it off. These sloths are big creatures. Another film: a bald eagle got himself killed by locking his talons into a fish that was too large for him. Couldn't ge loose and drowned.

Read something online that said a Bald Eagle can lift about 4 pounds max.

Beautiful country there Roger.

If you don't mind me asking, what state are you in?

Southern Ohio. The hills you see in the background is Kentucky. We have had a nesting pair for 8 years across the road from my house. They have raised 12 little ones to fly from the nest. The last week or so they have been hanging around their nest getting ready for another go at it.
