Interestingly, the most beautiful ones I have observed have been in fall and winter.
Wish I could have got a clearer picture but it only lasted about 5 minutes.

Beautiful pic Larry. Never tire of seeing pictures like that myself. Every sunrise and sunset is like a fingerprint no two alike.
Unfortunately, winter around here doesn't afford a lot of chances to see one which makes it more special. Snow all today.

Here's a mystery. Saw this at a flea market yesterday. It's galvanized metal, same as an old minnow bucket. About 14"L x 10"W x 14"D (approximate, I didn't measure it). Seller didn't know what it is. Neither do I.

Anyone know what it is?

May be? At this point that's as good a guess as any. It didn't have a wringer and didn't see any obvious signs that a wringer was ever mounted on it. No brackets nor any holes or places of wear where something might have been attached. The funnel with holes in it and extra holes around the funnel makes me think it was indeed for straining something liquid to drain into the bucket. Mop buckets (I've been acquainted with a few ) are usually much bigger- at least the more modern ones are, and have rollers. This one might hold about 2 gallons. With no rollers that could make sense. Probably would be used by a woman, wouldn't want to have to carry more weight. Maybe wring by hand instead of mechanically?

I was thinking along the lines that the perforated funnel is the wringer, probably for a house hold mop, not an industrial mop. Put the mop head into the funnel and twist till rung out.

For the average mechanical watch when serviced it is set to gain 15 seconds per day and will slow down to around 7 seconds per day. Rail Road watches 23 jewel minimum +4 seconds a day and chronometer movements up too 27 jewels +1-2 seconds per day. with in a couple of months they will settle down so I would not expect them too be able too keep time in unison. Using a timing machine. Also the maker of the movements and number of jewels. Please note, the first is made in Russia and not sure how many jewels but usually 17 jewels and many are brought back by tourists. The Timex is a stamped steel movement with no jewels. 3rd is a 7 jewel movement that includes the one for the balance wheel roller jewel with a pin lever pallet.

They all hit the same minute of the same hour from a few seconds up to 35-40 seconds after a very accurate quartz watch.

After getting the Carnival Swiss Movement quartz and a couple of Timex Expedition that are a few seconds in a week accurate I do not wear the Hand wind or automatic watches all that often.

Two autos that I won't get rid of are a Seiko movement hand wind hackable Invicta 8926 and an Orient Black Mako day date. My Vostok Amphibia automatic has apparently gotten magnetized because I can't adjust it any slower and it's minutes fast in a day.
