Case toothpicks

Does anyone here have a lot of toothpick knives in their collection? I have a nice one I would trade for another Case knife. I am not a big fan of them , only because they are so small, but they are a very nice knife.

Oldredbone I assume you are referring to the small toothpicks.I do collect the older large toothpicks. If you have some of those let me know.

You are right, I am referring to the small, 3" newer ones. Honestly, I was not aware of the larger older ones.please post a pic, I would love to see some, and how old are they?

This is a picture of a green bone Case Tested XX 61098 large toothpick. This knife dates from between 1920 and 1940 (Tested XX). I don't believe Case made the 098 pattern after the Tested era. The 098 pattern is 5 1/2 inches closed and came in bone like this one and in a variety of composite (colored) handles. There is also a 5 inch 093 toothpick that was made during a wider period of time with a comparable variety of handle materials.

OldRed and Keith, thanks for the kind words on the 098. While the toothpick pattern is not one that I collect, I do collect on condition at times. This knife is one I picked up based on the condition.

In addition to the 093 and 098 that have been shown, there are some other old renditions of the toothpick pattern:
- 094 at 4 1/4" and a little beefier appearance
- 095 at 5" which looks pretty comparable to the 093
- 096 at 3 1/8" which is probably comparable to the current tiny toothpick
- 097 at 5" which has the toothpick blade, but comes with leg knife handles

It would be pretty cool (to me) to see a group with examples of all of these included side-by-side.

Greg yours are pretty easy on the eyeballs too. The middle one? that stamp is new to me, very cool with the fish scaler and lockback?

That one is a little bit of an enigma. It should have a second blade , the hook disgorger but there are no signs of the knife being apart. All original Case parts but it should be a 62093F but that's the way I got it and it looks pretty cool so I ain't throwing it out.
