Don't have the time to go back through all this thread, but I don't think I've seen a more meaningful picture posted! Not throwin' off on anybody, it's all interestin' stuff, but this one really hit the spot! Thanks, Larry, for sharing it!

Point taken Scott. Yes, I can't imagine central Fl. offers much opportunity for wood fires. Though I guess you do get some frost, or maybe that is north of you. I am very interested to see what my first KY winter is going to offer.

Quick Steel, I had a wood stove very much like that years ago. The "Momma Bear" model. Is that what you have?Quick Steel wrote: the wood burning stove does a fine job of keeping the entire house "toasty" including the 2nd floor.

Great photo of The Home Place, The Grandkids and The Sun Shining Through The Trees.
We love our four grandchildren, but I heard a little poem a while back that seems apropos:
I've seen the lights of Paris.
I've seen the lights of Rome.
But, the brightest lights I've ever seen
Are the taillights of my children's car,
Carrying my grandchildren home.

Here's a little critter I picked up today only because it exemplifies the concept of, "superfluous ostentation". An adjustable wrench whose jaws are powered by a small electric motor to quickly adjust it to size. It operates in the manual mode as well(probably most of the time as the operation is a bit sporadic). It also features on the sides of the fixed jaw a scale for metric and USA measurement which likely facilitates finding the proper wrench to use after you tire of making this one work. For a dollar I'm getting a lot of laughs from it.

That is different
It's time to give up when you are to lazy to adjust a adjustable spanner.
My luck, it would have a flat battery every time I went to use it.

Yes it is Jerry;it takes two AAA batteries. The screw that holds the cover down was rusted so I had to drill the head off to get them out. It works but is sluggish;probably hasn't run in awhile.jerryd6818 wrote:Well ain't that somethin'. Is the battery in that black part in the handle?

QS I was snowbound for 6 days last winter. Of course I wasn't tryin' all that hard to get out either.Quick Steel wrote:Point taken Scott. Phil, for some reason I don't find your comments reassuring. I was counting on KY getting just enough snow to be picturesque.

Joe, no identifiers on the stove. Came from a friend years ago who in turn had it for years. We'll check and see if she has any more info. If so I'll send you a PM.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Quick Steel, upon further review I found mine to be a Fisher stove. They had a Baby, Momma and Papa model and other models.
Yours appears to be a very good copy of the stove. Maybe even more solidly built.
They are great stoves.
